Brian Meyer, Head Boys/Girls Coach

Mr. Meyer has over 18 years of experience in Track and Field.  Running track in high school began with a bet that ended with 6 district championships and a state championship in the 400 meters.  Mr. Meyer attended Central Washington University where he was a four-year letterman between 1989 and 1993.  While at Central, he qualified for Nationals four times and became both an indoor and outdoor All-American.  During his senior year, Mr. Meyer served as the team captain for Central Washington while he was named the West Central District NAIA Scholar Athlete of the Year.  In college he competed in the 400, 200, and both relays. 

 Meyer’s coaching and teaching experience began at Coquille High School in Oregon where he taught US History while coaching basketball, track, and cross-country.  After leaving Oregon, Meyer was hired to teach at Pacific Middle School and later Mount Rainier High School.  He has coached at the University of Puget Sound, Skyline, and Mount Rainier High School.  His last assignment was as the head coach of Mount Rainier High School primarily responsible for sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers, and relays.

This will be his 7th year as the head coach here at Fife High School.  Coach Meyer has led the girls team to 4 league titles, 2 district titles, and 2 top 8 finishes in the 2A State Championships.  On the boys side, Meyer has helped build a struggling program into one that has consistently found itself in contention for their first league title in about 12 years.  His ultimate goal is to return the boys team here at Fife to the dominance they once showed in the earlt 90's.
