Jayden Horton-Mims Holds Off Quincy Wilson in 300-Meter Clash at Officials Hall of Fame Invitational

Jayden Horton-Mims became the seventh high school male athlete to eclipse the 33-second barrier in the indoor 300 meters Saturday at the Officials Hall of Fame Invitational at The Armory in New York.

Horton-Mims, a junior at Imhotep Institute Charter High in Pennsylvania, clocked 32.92 seconds in the boys varsity gold race to prevail against sophomore Quincy Wilson of Bullis School in Maryland, who ran 33.12 to elevate to the No. 9 all-time high school competitor.

Colin Abrams, Wilson’s teammate at Bullis, won the 600 and 1,000 meters, the latter in a meet-record 2:27.63 for the fastest prep performance in the country this season.

Abrams, a junior, also ran a meet-record 1:20.84 in the 600 to elevate to the No. 6 high school competitor this year, in addition to contributing to a Bullis victory in the 4x800 relay in 7:50.70.

Isabel Conde de Frankenberg of Cedar Park High in Texas competed unattached Friday at The Armory in the Ramapo College Season Opener and ran the fastest girls prep 800 in the country this season by clocking 2:08.49.

Conde de Frankenberg prevailed Saturday at the Coaches Hall of Fame Invitational in the 1,000 in 2:47.60, also the top high school performance nationally this year.

Saratoga Springs swept the distance medley relays, with both boys and girls lineups producing the top marks in the country this season.

Emily Bush, who won the girls 2-mile race Friday in 10:27.31 for the No. 2 prep effort nationally this year, anchored Saratoga Springs to an 11:46.20 effort in the DMR.

The Blue Streaks ran 10:21.80 to triumph in the boys DMR.

Padua Academy of Delaware clocked 9:06.01 in the girls 4x800, the second-fastest high school performance in the country this year.

Katherine Bohlke of Newington High in Connecticut clocked 4:52.66 to triumph in the girls mile, the No. 13 high school effort this season.
