Katelyn Tuohy of North Rockland won the New York state title in the 3,000 meters, but she didn’t return to the meet for the 1,500 and her outlook on New Balance Nationals Outdoor remains in some doubt.

Tuohy was reportedly suffering from a sinus infection.

She ran US#2 9:21.90 to win the 3,000 and beat Saratoga Springs senior and runner-up Kelsey Chmiel by 15 seconds.

Matthew Payamps of St. Anthony’s kicked past defending champion Shea Weilbaker of Saratoga Springs in a replay of their 3,200 meters race at the Loucks Games. Payamps dipped under nine minutes with a finish time of 8:59.04.

In the boys 3,000-meter steeplechase, national leader Parker Stokes of Maine-Endwell lowered his US#1 time to 9:02.48.

Sarah Trainor of Franklin D. Roosevelt, who broke the national record in the 2K steeplechase in early May, won the state title with 6:31.59 – the sixth-fastest performance in prep history.

Kenneth Wei won the long jump and added the 110-meter hurdles (13.86) to lead Mount Sinai to the boys Federation title.

The Paul Robeson girls won the 4x100 relay in 46.74 on the way to the Federation team crown.

Scarsdale lived up to its billing as the boys 4x800 relay favorite, running a season-best time of 7:43.59 to hold off fast-charging Bronxville team that went from fifth to second and crossed the finish line in 7:45.67.

In the girls 4x800 relay, Fayettevile-Manlius, the Penn Relays champs, outdueled Corning and came away with a close 9:04.69 to 9:05.54 win.

Penn Relays champion and defending state champion Rylar Gould (Newburgh Free Academy) rallied from behind to hold off Sean Hewitt (Francis Lewis) for the Division 1 title as the two runners posted the first times under 52 seconds in the country this year. Gould ran 51.81 for a new meet record and Hewitt ran 51.85. In the Federation final, Gould false-started and Hewitt won it in 52.98.

In the boys 800 meters, Johann Matzal (Faith Heritage) took the early lead and held it to the finish, holding off the kick of Bronxville’s Matt Rizzo and pulling an upset with a personal best 1:52.01. Rizzo was second in 1:52.07.

Lindsey Butler of Corning led four girls under 2:10 in the 800 meters, running US#9 2:06.88 for the win.

Anthony Harrison of Ramapo threw 197-7 for a dominant win in the boys discus throw and returned to claim the Federation title. He finished third in the shot put.

Kwamere White of Henninger won the boys high jump at 6-7.

Shane Racey (Ravena) cleared 16 feet to win the boys pole vault. Kaeli Thompson (Warwick) made 13 feet for the girls title.

Seventh-grader Jada Kenner of Tapestry, just 12 years old, won the Federation sprint titles, taking the girls 100 meters in 11.90 and the 200 in 23.83 seconds.

Jason Robinson of Westmoreland took two titles in wheelchair races, winning the 800 meters in 1:47 and then the 3,200 in a fast 7:36.13 for a meet record.

Federation Team Scores – RESULTS

Boys champion – Mount Sinai 26 points

Girls champion – Paul Robeson 30 points
