Payton Hinkle Wins Three Events, Smashes Two All-Time Oklahoma Records At State Championships

Payton Hinkle of Broken Arrow, an Oklahoma State recruit, left an imprint on her final state championship meet at Ardmore, Okla. 

Hinkle broke the all-time Oklahoma record in the girls 1,600 meters by running 4:49.24 for one 6A title and she ran 2:09.47 to edge Deborah Mazzei from Jenks (2:09.86) in the deepest 800 final in state history. 

Hinkle also broke an all-time state record to win the 3,200 meters in 10:35.29. 

The Jenks girls, however, captured the 6A team title with 115.5 points. The 4x800 relay team broke the all-time state record in the 4x800 with US#10 9:12.04. 

Rachel Neaves from Deer Creek threw 150-7 to win the 6A girls discus.

The Westmoore boys got a 1-2 finish in the 400 meters with Kevion Williams (48.60) and Kolton Bennett (49.43). 

The Jaguars relays dominated, with an all-time state best in the 4x200 (1:25.15) and victories in the 4x100 (41.44) and 4x400 (3:19.49). It was all part of a massive 165-point effort for the 6A championship. 

Jayden Rowe of Union, an Oklahoma football recruit, won the 6A 100 (10.60w) and 200 (21.09w). 

Deer Creek's AJ Antonelli won the 1,600 meters in 4:12.78 and the 3,200 in 9:19.41. He was also placed third in  fast 800 with 1:53.15. Carson Royse of Edmond North won the 800 in 1:52.27.

In the competition for the boys 5A title, Piedmont got enough points of the the 4x400 relay (fourth place) to edge Ardmore (second place) by two points, 94 to 92. 

Del City did Piedmont a favor by winning the race in 3:20.34. 

Ricky Smith from Ardmore ran wind-legal times of 10.50 and 21.43 to sweep the 5A 100 and 200 meters. 

Andrew Hughes jumped 7 feet to win the 5A boys high jump.

Class 5A - Piedmont boys 94 points, Bishop Kelley girls 106 points - RESULTS

Class 4A - Lincoln Christian boys 121 points, Weatherford girls 128.5 points - RESULTS

Class 3A - Oklahoma Christian 114 points, Beggs girls 83 points - RESULTS

Class 2A - Rejoice Christian boys 119 points, Hooker girls 85 points - RESULTS

Class 1A - Ringling Public boys 114 points, Seiling girls 104 points - RESULTS
