It was a long, productive weekend for Ten Sleep’s Sydney Holiday. At the Wyoming State Track and Field Championships, held at Kelly Walsh High in Casper, the sophomore won the Class 1A long jump (18-1), setting a class record, and added titles in the 100 meters (12.80), 200 (26.41) and 100 hurdles (15.58).

“Coming into this weekend, I knew I wanted to jump over 18 feet,” said Holiday to the Casper Star Tribune. “But I wasn’t sure if I could.”

Ten Sleep is a town with only 250 people.

Holiday's four gold medals helped Ten Sleep place second as a team with 94 points, as Cokeville easily won the team crown with 157.50 points.

In the 1A boys team race, Farson-Eden barely edged out Burlington, 83 to 82.5 for the state title.

Freshman Sydney Thorvaldson of Rawlins won the 3A 3,200 in 10:47.13 and claimed the 1,600 in a class record time of 5:03.69.

Wyatt Peck of Star Valley easily won the 3A 800 crown in a meet record time of 1:51.75.

"I had no idea about the record, but we were just shooting for a good time and competing," Peck told the Tribune

Brodie Roden of Riverton set a Class 3A record in the 400 (48.78) and won the 100 (10.98) and 200 (22.24).

Cody freshman Grace Shaffer won the 3A pole vault title clearing 11 feet.
