Sara Hall Runs Personal Best for Fifth at Frankfurt MarathonBy Adam Kopet Sara Hall ran a personal-best 2:27:21 on Sunday at the Frankfurt Marathon, improving her personal best by 1:05. Hall finished fifth in the race won by Vivian Cheruiyot of Kenya in 2:23:35. This is the first year where American women have broken 2:30:00 at least 10 times in a year, according to Japan Running News. Hall completed the feat twice this year. Her previous marathon was in Tokyo, where she finished sixth in 2:28:26. In the men's race, two Americans ran 2:12. Scott Smith finished eighth in 2:12:21 and Scott Fauble finished ninth in 2:12:35. The men's race was won by Shure Kitata Tola of Ethiopia in 2:05:50. More news |
