Los Angeles, CA – August 27, 2008 - Olympic
gold medal winner, Usain Bolt, is scheduled to compete in the 100 meter event at
the Zurich IAAF Golden League meeting on Friday, August 29th which will be
webcast on Trackshark.com.
Bolt, who lowered his world record to 9.69 seconds
in a stunning 100 meter final at the Beijing Olympic Games, also broke Michael
Johnson’s historic world record in the 200 meters with his time of 19.30
seconds.
The 22-year-old became the third man to win Olympic
gold in both the 100 and 200 meter track events and the first to break world
records in both at the Games. He also won gold and set a world record at the
Beijing Games as part of the 4x100 relay.
Among the other top name athletes already confirmed
for the meeting at Letzigrund Stadium are Olympic Champion LaShawn Merrit and
his countryman Jeremy Wariner in the 400 meters; Cuban Dayron Robles, the world
record holder and Olympic Champion in the 110 meter hurdles; Sanya Richards, who
will run in the women’s 200 and 400 meters; in addition to Russian pole vault
world record holder and Olympic Champion Yelena Isinbayeva.
