Conard CT senior Gavin Sherry returned Friday to The Armory in New York and ripped off another indoor personal best on the first night of the New Balance Games.

Two weeks after breaking the U.S. Air Force Hispanic Games record in the mile with 4:06.72, the Stanford recruit ran 8:50.05 to win the 2-mile. He knocked 12 seconds off the meet record.

Sherry, who has run 8:47.20 for 3,200 meters outdoors, ran pretty close to that exact pace Friday. His split for 3,000 meters was 8:15.57.
